Biography

Craig Colorusso (b. 1970, Mount Vernon, NY) is a contemporary artist whose immersive installations, sound sculptures, and bowed guitar performances blur the boundaries between art, environment, and experience. Often situated in natural settings, Colorusso’s minimalist sound sculptures explore themes of consciousness, togetherness, and sensory awareness, encouraging participation and a deeper engagement with the world around us. Drawing from his roots as a touring punk rock musician, he is fascinated by how sound shapes experience, incorporating wood, metal, fabric, and innovative technologies to create dynamic, evolving installations.

Colorusso lives and works in Rogers, Arkansas. His work has been presented internationally at the Solar Art Festival in Doha, Qatar with displays of his work in exhibitions at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Anchorage Museum, MASS MoCA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK, The deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Lincoln, MA, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Delaware Art Museum, among others. He has work in the permanent collections of ArtFields, Lake City, SC, and the National Museum of Qatar, Doha.
